National Child Protection Guidance Consultation

The Scottish Government has been working with stakeholders and partners to revise Scotland’s national guidance on child protection. The draft guidance now being consulted on is a revision of Protecting Children – A Shared Responsibility.

It takes into account more focussed pieces of guidance that have been published in the interim, such as the Children’s Charter, the 2004 Framework for Standards, and the 2005 Guidance for Child Protection Committees.

The new National Guidance on Child Protection is relevant to all whose work involves contact with children and/or their families, across departments and agencies as well as being relevant to those working in the statutory, third and independent sectors.
